They Don’t Shoot Horses

I revel in mysteries, and this was once an fun read. the novel has a lovely story instructed in a very plausible voice.

About

Jolted out of bed by gunshots, Susie Wheeler’s peaceful widowhood of gentling and training abused horses is shattered. She has bullet holes in her barn and dead horses. Susie infuriates meddling relatives and challenges those who would call her abused horses dangerous. Then with the help of her small-town friends and the Cimarron County Sheriff, they take on horse thieves and mysterious strangers.

Book Reviews
This author thoroughly understands the world in which she has placed the reader. She paints a vivid setting by perfectly describing the ranching scene in Colorado. The details about training and caring for horses lend great credibility to her novel. Anyone growing up around horses will enjoy reading this book. Caudell's characters have a ring of authenticity with interesting flaws as well as hard working values. Her world is one in which friends and neighbors help each other without question. Although not as intricately plotted as a typical mystery or suspense, the novel has a beautiful story told in a very believable voice. I'm looking forward to more books from this author
